Tim Watson

I have recently retired after 40 years of working in the financial markets of the City. Most of that time was spent in managing the assets of, or advising on the investments of, pension funds and charities. In my last few years I headed the Institutional Client Relations team at one the of the larger investment management houses, being “the face” of the company to its clients. In this, not only did I have to be able to explain developments in financial markets, but also to understand the needs of the client base in what they were trying to achieve and the pressures that they were under. It is, I hope, this ability to empathise and an understanding of the needs of both our members and the commercial imperatives that we have to operate within, that I bring to the SWALLOW board.
